ABOUT US

We love dogs.
We want them all to have good homes.

It's that simple.

Pilots and Pups is a 501(c)(3) non-profit that helps give shelter and rescue dogs a better chance at finding homes.  With our dog advocacy efforts we hope to establish a Dogs Bill of Rights to legally protect our domesticated friends from abuse, neglect, overbreeding and slaughter in our California shelters.

Many of the dogs in shelters and rescues are pure-breds who were surrendered by people who bought them from breeders then realized
RAISING A PUPPY TAKES A LOT OF TIME, TRAINING AND EFFORT!   These pups often end up in a shelter due to no fault of their own.
So, if you're looking for a specific breed of dog...

RESCUE A DOG INSTEAD OF BUYING.
We can help!
Check out our Match.Dog program.

WHAT WE DO

Pilots and Pups provides transport of dogs and cats out of severely overcrowded California shelters to rescues and fosters to increase their chances of finding forever homes.

We also provide food to the pets of people experiencing homelessness and families that cannot afford their care.

Ground Work

Not everything we do for dogs involves altitude.  Nearly every call that comes in from the public (as opposed to a shelter or rescue) is from someone looking to rehome their dog or someone who is looking for a place to take a found dog.  In the case of a found dog we will help if possible by scanning for a chip and reuniting the dog with its owner.  Sadly most dogs found on the streets are not chipped and have been intentionally abandoned by their owners BUT...every now and then there's a happy ending.
WHAT A DIFFERENCE A CHIP MAKES
A
good samaritan who had picked up a very scared dog on New Years eve called so we came out to scan the dog for a chip...and an ID number actually appeared!  We contacted "Rocky's" dad Jerome and he left work immediately to swoop up his boy.
The two were reunited with happy tails and happy tears.  If only there were more good stories like this one.
WELCOME HOME ROCKY!
